Hazel Instance Obituary

HAZEL ANNE INSTANCE NEE CURLEJuly 31st, 1933 – March 23rd, 2019
Hazel Instance passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Valleyview Care Centre, Brandon at the age of 85 years. Hazel was the second child of nine to Robert and Mary Curle north of Dauphin, Manitoba along the Valley River. She grew  up in Dauphin, trained to be a Teletype Operator in the Royal Canadian Air Force, then moved to Minne-dosa to marry Edgar Instance in 1953 and had 6 children, 4 sons and 2 daughters. Hazel was well known in the neighbourhood for her fresh bread, cinnamon buns and toffee; for all to enjoy (her children and all their friends). She always made her signature cabbage rolls and perogies for Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving family gatherings. She worked at the Quesnel’s Honey Farm, Minnedosa Hospital, Gateway Motel, but being a very patient and caring person, Daycare was her calling. Many of her daycare kids will tell you about the good times they had at Hazel’s. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, bowling and following her chil-dren’s hockey (often seen walking to the arena with a hockey bag in hand). After hosting her fathers 75th Birthday at the house on Minnedosa Lake, it became the location for many Curle Family Reunions. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 30 years and the Minnedosa Legion for 45 years. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary, husband Edgar, son Randy, infant daughter Brenda, brother George, sisters: Laura, Edna and Violet. Remaining to forever cherish Hazel’s memory are her loving children: Tom (Lori), Shelly (Terry), Blaine (Lynn) and Corey. Grandchildren: Tyler (Denise), Arron (Erin), Lyndie (Charlie), Larissa and Tommy James “T.J.”. Great Grand Chil-dren: Julie, Ashton, Skyler and Claire. Brothers: Roy and Bob and Sisters: Dorothy and Margaret and numerous sisters in-law, brothers in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Donations in her memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation. Grave side service will be held on July 27th,2019.
