Ida Green, aged 97, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2019 at Country Meadows Personal Care Home, in Neepawa, Manitoba.
Ida was born in Finningley, England and was the 8th of 10 children. She married Douglas Green in 1941 and raised 4 children. In 1975, both Ida and her husband moved to Thompson, Manitoba to live with one of their daughters and her family.
While in Thompson, Ida showed her miniature poodles throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan and obtained championship status for two of them. She joined a Seniors 5 pin bowling league and was known to beat her coach a few times. Ida was also an active member of the Thompson Senior’s Club. In 2007, Ida moved to Neepawa along with her daughter and son-in-law.
Ida loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends and having a good laugh.
Ida will be missed by son Michael, daughters Jackie, Margaret (Graham) and Janice. She will also be missed by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 1 sister and several nieces and nephews, along with their families.
Ida was predeceased by her husband Douglas, 7 siblings, 1 son-in-law and 1 grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 11:00am at Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, Manitoba with reception to follow in the United Church CEC at 11:30am
