Allen Victor Harper

Dad passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at the Carberry Personal Care Home at the age of 95.

He is survived by his three daughters Alma Jean (Nelson) McDonald of Carberry, Bonny (Kelvin) Hampson of Starbuck and Cindy McDougall of Calgary; his brother Eugene of Brandon, step sister-in-law Judith Stearns of California,step daughter Donna (Grant) Farley of Brandon, step son-in-law Alvin Kroeker of Birch River, step daughters Lorna (Brad) Coe of Hartney, and step son Mervin (Millie) Farough of Minnedosa. He will be remembered with fondness by his grand, great and great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces & nephews and many friends.  He was predeceased by his first wife Jean of 52 years in 2002, second wife Marrian (Farough) in 2021, step daughter Diane Kroeker in February 2025.

The third child of six children, Dad was born on April 28th, 1929 to Victor and Alma Harper at Turtle Plains, Manitoba. In early April of 1941 the family moved to Reeve, Manitoba where dad and his brothers farmed until his marriage to Marrian Farough in 2004 when he moved to Brandon.

Dad’s most favorite was being an outdoorsman whether it was farmer, logger, hunter, cowboy or baseball player. He loved to teach how to rope a cow or ride a horse. He was an avid story teller, had a “yarn” for everything, many will have memories of their own of his escapades over the years. He loved to visit and missed that most of all when he became too frail to live on his own any longer. He was a resident of the Personal Care Home only a short period of time until his passing.
