It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angus John Hachkowski, born September 21, 1947, in Rossburn, Manitoba. Angus passed away peacefully at the Neepawa Health Centre on April 6, 2024, leaving to mourn Jean, his wife of 51 years, two children Paul (Amanda) and Andrea, brother Anthony (Judy), sister-in-law Joan (Alvin) Smith and many nieces and nephews. He attended school in Strathclair and after high school attended Manitoba Institute of Technology (now Red River Polytech), graduating with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He was initially employed in Winnipeg by Versatile and moved to Minnedosa with Jean in 1974 to work at Agristeel, which later became Morris Equipment Ltd. Following retirement from Morris in 2007, he became very involved in the community, volunteering for various organizations including the 50+ Centre, the Legion, Special Olympics, and Men’s Shed. Working with Men’s Shed was particularly rewarding for Angus as it made use of his passion for carpentry (he received a diploma for it from ACC in 2000). He also enjoyed working summers at the golf course. A funeral service was held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church with Reverend Chad McCharles officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Minnedosa Men’s Shed, Box 1358, Minnedosa, Manitoba.
