Audrey Margaret (Gash) McPherson

With great sorrow, the family of Audrey Margaret McPherson, wife of Finlay B. McPherson, announce her unexpected passing from heart failure on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta. Born September 23, 1938 in Minnedosa, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late Thomas William Gash and the late Margaret Jane (Downey) Gash.

Audrey earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Teaching certificate from Brandon University. While attending university she received bursaries and scholarships. For two years she taught chemistry and physics at the Souris, Manitoba high school. For one year she taught at the David Thompson junior high school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She taught math and science at the Kirkland Lake high school in Northern Ontario for two years.

She completed Piano Grade 8. For three summers, Audrey played piano in a Western Fiddle group located in Lethbridge, Alberta. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, visiting with her and her husband’s extended family.

In addition to her husband, Fin, Audrey will be missed by her daughter, Averill McPherson Purpura (Fab); son, Brock McPherson (Lisa); brother, Dwight Gash (Arnie); sister, Janet Lettley (Brian); as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 1:30 PM from White’s Funeral Home Chapel, 34 3rd Ave. SW, Minnedosa, Manitoba. Interment will take place in Minnedosa Cemetery, 141 2 Ave. SE, Minnedosa, Manitoba
