Barbara Mary Freier, 75, of Neepawa passed away peacefully on March 9th, 2024, with family at her side. Barbara grew up in Glenella, and when she was young her family moved to their farm just north of Neepawa. She lived on the farm for most of her life where she helped with daily chores, including feeding the chickens. After her mother’s passing, Barbara moved to Yellowhead Manor, spending 25 years there before moving to Country Meadows in August 2023.
Barb was part of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the United Church Women. She enjoyed attending various events around Neepawa whenever she had the opportunity. She loved to watch curling and The Price is Right and diligently participated in Kinsman Bingo – we knew not to disturb her during bingo! Barbara will be dearly missed and always remembered.
Barbara was predeceased by her father, Ferdinand, and mother Tina (Toews) Freier as well as her brothers Paul (Eva) Freier and Arnold Freier. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Eva Freier, her nieces, Stefanie (Stuart), and Amy Freier, and her nephew, Kelsey Nagorski.
Thank you to the staff at Country Meadows as well as the Neepawa Hospital, and the Neepawa District Palliative Care Service for providing excellent care during her final weeks. We would also like to thank Rev Chad, White's Funeral Home and all who have visited or called Barb before and during her heath declined.'
A funeral will be held in Barbara's honor. We request all of Barbara's friends and loved ones to join us in celebrating her life at the United Church in Neepawa on March 15th at 11 am.
Donations may be made to the United Church in Barbara’s memory.
