With deep love and sadness, we share the passing of Clayton Reid, who left us peacefully at the age of 87, surrounded by family.
Born to Jack and Mary Reid, Clayton grew up with a strong foundation of family and the great outdoors — values that shaped his life and brought him lifelong joy and laughter. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Glenda; his brothers Elmer, Ronnie, Doug, and Allen; and his sisters Donna and Joyce. Though they went before him, their memory remained a constant presence in Clayton’s heart.
Clayton’s greatest joy came from the family he nurtured and cherished. He is survived by his loving and devoted partner Sandra Ng (Foxton), and her children David, Christina, and Deanna; his children Alayna (Colin), Bryan, Marni (Shawn), Leslie (Meaghan); and his grandchildren, who lit up his world: Camille (Ryan), Breanne, Ethan, Josh, and Jessica. His bond with his surviving brothers Larry and Gary (Jackie), and his sisters Judy, Linda (Charlie), and Marlene (Ron), was filled with the kind of joy, teasing, and storytelling that only siblings can share — a thread of laughter that ran through his whole life. He will also be remembered fondly by his many nieces and nephews as “Uncle Pete.”
An early riser by nature, Clayton loved the peaceful solitude of mornings spent fishing, where the mist on the water and the tug on the line brought him simple happiness. He was equally at home in the woods during hunting season, chasing bush and cherishing time spent with the guys — sharing stories, laughs, and the kind of friendship that can only be found deep in the wilderness. Stuart Lake held a special place in his heart, where friendships were strengthened and happy memories were made around the campfire.
Clayton loved to make people laugh and was known for his quick wit. One of his favorite ways to brighten a room was by making up his own language and saying, “Diamony good one,” which always had people smiling. He had a special way of spreading joy with his humor and playful spirit.
Clayton spent countless hours playing solitaire and enjoyed playing cards with family — a quiet retreat where he could relax and pass time in his own way while listening to music.
Throughout his life, Clayton walked a personal journey with Jesus, a quiet but profound faith that gave him strength and comfort. He lived simply, loved deeply, and left an enduring legacy of joy, laughter, and love for those lucky enough to know him.
