Clinton Neil McKechnie

July 21, 1944 ~ July 30, 2023 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Obituary

Clint beloved husband of Lois passed away at the Neepawa Health Centre Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the age of 79 years.

Clint was born on July 21st 1944 in Winnipeg to Bill and Jean McKechnie.  He was proud of his Ukrainian heritage (three grandparents were Ukrainian), and being called a North End kid. He lived in the North End until he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1963. Over a 29-year career, he was based in Germany twice, Quebec, B.C. and Manitoba.  After retiring from the Military, he worked as a Private Investigator, and finally on the Security Team for WRHA in Winnipeg.

In 1972 Clint met Lois Brautigam, and they were married later that year. Daughter Lori arrived in 1973, son Mathew in 1979. His children were his greatest love and joy.

In 2008 Clint fulfilled Lois' dream of moving to the Neepawa area.  Rural life agreed with him, and he loved their acreage.  He soon got the name of Dr. Doolittle as he wanted to feed and protect all the wildlife, much to the chagrin of Lois and the neighbours. Gardens, flowers, and trees were easy pickings for the deer.

Clint was an avid member of IPA (International Police Association).  He and Lois hosted several members from other countries and enjoyed the comradery that brought.

He was also a member of COPP in Neepawa. His volunteering was his way to say thank you to the community that had welcomed him so freely.

Clint was predeceased by his parents Bill and Jean and in-laws Clarence and Jean Brautigam. Clint leaves to mourn his wife Lois, son Mathew, daughter Lori, Kevin, Tegan, Darian, and Kaelen. One brother, two sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A private family service is planned for a later date.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
