Suddenly on February 2nd 2024, Donovan Douglas Wells entered into rest at the age of 65 years with his son Blaine by his side in the generational home that he had lived in most of his life.
After finishing his schooling, Donovan left home to work in the oil fields in Alberta. He, however, never lost the connection to his roots on the family farm and returned to share the workload with his Dad and Mum. He loved the farm and doted on his cattle all his life.
Donovan married and had three much loved children: Barrett, Blaine, and Hilary. He had a natural affinity for children and dogs. He loved them and they loved him back. His two grandsons were the most treasured part of his life!
He was, also, blessed to have a group of lifelong friends. They were a constant in his life through the good times and the rough times; the Nutriem crew (where he worked seasonally), the Adriaansen coffee group, and his Wellwood crew. Some friends helped him navigate the technology of his phone always and whenever he needed it. The pranks that they pulled on each other were a constant source of entertainment. He cherished every moment!
Donovan had so much left to enjoy whether it was being with his grandchildren, working on the farm, or sharing time with family and friends.
He is survived by his two sons and daughter:
