It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Edith (Edie) Alexandria Glushek (nee Lynk). Edith was born on July 11, 1948 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. She passed away peacefully at the age of 73, on October 14 at 7:10 pm at her home, Sunnybrook Charolais, Neepawa, Manitoba. Edith was born in Glace Bay, raised in Donkin, Nova Scotia and lived her later life mostly in Red Lake, Ontario and Neepawa, Manitoba.

She had many passions including, cooking and baking, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, singing, writing poetry (published), reading, camping at snowshoe falls, travelling to visit family especially Riding Mountain, Manitoba to visit the Zechowskis, hunting, and dining and dancing with her husband. She had many careers including being a cook, a clerk, a bartender, a teller, a machine operator at a mine, an RNA, and a farmer. Her greatest accomplishment, however, was being a wife, a mother, a sister and Mrs. Auntie to many. She also had aliases. She was known as supermom to her kids because she could do anything she put her mind to, she had those eyes in the back of her head, and was a cop Citizen on Patrol. She was also known to change her name to Ralph when her kids called mom too many times.

Edith was predeceased by her loving mother, Annie Lynk (nee Malin), her brothers Lauchlin, Gordon and baby brother Alex Lynk, her sisters Irene (Gussy) Butts, Lucy Julia (William) Chow, and her nephews Andy Butts, and Bryan Marcyniuk.
She is survived by her devoted husband Lenord and her loving mother-in-law Sally (Frank) Glushek, her daughters Phaedra (Alain Végiard) Glushek, Chrystal and Martin Végiard, and Tanya (Mike) Giovinazzo, her sisters Thelma (Ray) Porlier, Elsie (Douglas) Brian, Matthew and Michael McIntyre, Annie (William) and Sandy ONeil, and Katherine, Matthew and Christopher Blakney, her brothers Michael (Nancy), Melanie and Amy Mitzner and Norman Trusz. Other surviving and close family members to Edith were her many nieces and nephews including Brian (Loretta), Brian Junior and Derek Lauridsen, Danielle Trudel and Karl Kirst, Kimi (Rainer) Amie, Veronica and Kevin (Savannah Starr) Wirtz, Stephen Lauridsen and Shawna and Jessica Little, Erika (Sean) Wadelius and Colby Quesnel, John (Susan) Lauren and Aiden Butts, Patricia Butts and Samantha and Christopher Patrie, Edith (Glenn Rush) Boylan and Bradley Marcyniuk, Adrian, Gordie, Germaine, Christopher, and Delaina Lynk, and Julia and William (Amanda) Chow. She is also survived by her aunt Edie (Donald) MacVickar, cousins Jimmy, Donnie and Karen MacVicar, Margie MacVicar-Sneek and Ike (Gordon) Rumbolt. Edith was also survived by her great-grandchildren Benoit and Samuel LaPorte and Catherine Végiard as well her husbands family and countless friends in the Red Lake and Neepawa areas.
A memorial service will be held in 2022.
