Suddenly at her home in Carberry on January 17, 2023, Edna Nicholson passed away at the age of 73 years.

Left to mourn is her husband of 52 years, John; her sons, David (Tanis), Steven (Marie), Richard (Natasha), Kevin (Roberta) and Graham (Shannon); her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christian, Aiden, Brooke, Courtney, Rheanna, Austin, Stephanie, Cameron, Vanessa, Jasmine, Riley, Jenna and Josh; her great-grandchildren, Parker, David and Colter. She is also survived by her 3 sisters, Kathleen (David), Edith (Stan) and Barbara, as well as her brother William.

Edna was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Jean McAvoy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne McAvoy, Barbara Iceton, Anne Young and Willy Young and her niece Lisa McAvoy.

Edna was born in Ireby, England in 1949 and married John on August 8, 1970. Together with their 5 boys, they immigrated to the Cypress River area in March 1984 and later settled in the Carberry area. She was very fond of her many memories and friendships made over the years.

Edna was very family-oriented. Visiting her boys and their families was the highlight of her life. She was the glue that kept everyone connected.

The family has chosen to hold a private service at a later date.
