Evelyn "Joyce" Robinson Obituary

Evelyn “Joyce” Robinson (nee Sayer)

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Joyce - loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Joyce peacefully passed away with family and friends by her side on May 12, 2019 at Neepawa Hospital at the age of 63.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her son Blaine (Chelsea), daughter Andrea (David) Ferguson, and her granddaughters Emerie, Hadley and Ivy- her pride and joy. She will also be remembered by her sister Jane Sayer, brother Jack (Pat) Sayer, Brother in Law Ken Dahle, and her nieces, nephews, and great nephews. She leaves behind many close friends.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Frances Sayer, and sister Catherine Dahle.

Joyce was born April 30, 1956 in Morden, Manitoba. Joyce graduated from St Boniface College in 1976 to become an L.P.N. She continued to be a dedicated and caring nurse until 2013. In 2009, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and went into remission. It was in 2013 that she started her long battle with Adrenal cancer and the return of breast cancer. She defied all odds and was able to enjoy many years with her three grand daughters, despite doctors predictions. She had a big, beautiful heart and would always put others before herself.

Family and friends were Joyce’s passion and delight. She devoted her life to her children and was the proudest grandma moving from Carman to Neepawa to be close to them. Joyce especially loved making up stories with Emerie, colouring with Hadley, and reading to Ivy. She had a special bond with each of them and they adored her visits and hugs.  She also loved her time at the lake with Shirley Rempel and her family, and being outdoors in the summer camping with her friends. She most looked forward to her conversations with her kids and spending time with them together. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Joyce during her illness, especially Dr. Milligan whose care went above and beyond and the nurses and staff at the Neepawa Hospital.

A funeral service will be held ‪on Friday, May 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the Carman United Church.
