Griffin Bugg Obituary

There are people in this world that come into our lives and touch our heart so profoundly that we will never be the same again. Altering every piece of our heart, soul, and mind, these people change the trajectory of our path forever.

Sometimes you have to look for these people, seek them out, or pray for them to walk into our world. However sometimes, on very rare occasions, we are blessed with them without even knowing we needed them.

Today we are honoring one of those guiding lights, with the passing of Griffin Carter Bugg on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

The angel spirit of Griffin lived a life not many people would understand. In his short time on earth, only 15 years in length, Griffin managed to overcome the mountains in front of him day after day with pure joy, love, and faith.

Shining light onto all those who encountered him, and smiling through adversity, Griffin was the epidemy of truth.

Born on April 15, 2008 in Brandon MB, Griffin was diagnosed with Isolated Lissencephaly at the early age of six months old.

Having his ability to walk, run, and talk taken away, Griffin soon learned other ways to communicate with those around him. Through sounds, movement, smiles, and laughs, Griffin easily made friends with classmates, aides, and teachers, not to mention was quite the ladies man with his head full of curls and twinkle in his eyes.

Griffin loved school and all of his classmates. Their excitement brought him excitement, their laughs bringing him laughs. He squealed in delight as they talked to him, included him, and read him stories. However not to be outdone or ignored, he also put in his two cents worth on many topics being discussed. With the kicking of the feet, waving of the hands, and altering the pitch of his sounds, people knew what Griffin had to say. Several times, after the declaration of his own ideas, Griffin would give you that look and smile, just to make sure you knew that he too made a contribution.

When not in school Griffin spent his time at home with his favorite people in the world; dad Michael, mom Sondra, and brother Devin. Lazing out in his own custom made “chill” chair, he would spend hours watching his favorite shows; Baby Einstein, or Thomas the Train. With the bright lights, sounds, and movement, Griffin oohed and awed, bounced around, and cheered on the little characters dancing across the screen. There was no denying his love for his shows.

A favorite summer pastime was hanging out in the family pool. With sunglasses on, Griffin found freedom in the water and was able to utilize his body in ways he normally couldn’t. Splashing his way around the pool, kicking his feet, and soaking in the sun, Griffin loved his water time.

Always along for the ride and adventure, Griffin was able to go on a few great vacations with his family. He was able to fist bump Micky and Minnie as they strolled the streets of Disney World, the

family traveled to the West Coast, and recently they were able to take a drive to Niagara Falls. Family was everything to Griffin and his face lit up when he was around his crew.

Despite knowing that one day Griffin would no longer be with us, his passing came as a shock to all. What gives us great comfort, is knowing that he was met by a warm and loving embrace from his grandparents, Leonard and Justina Fehr, and Gary Bugg.

Griffin has left to mourn; dad Michael, mom Sondra (Fehr), and brother Devin, grandma Vicky (Wilf), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Be free Griffin. Never stop running, talking, laughing, and loving. Your memory lives on and your light will never go out.
