It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Elizabeth Watson on April 4th, 2024 at the
Minnedosa Personal Care Home.
Helen was born November 11, 1929. After schooling at Roseneath and Rapid City, she was employed by
The Royal Bank of Canada at Russell and Minnedosa. On October 29th, 1955 Helen married William
Watson of Strathclair at Hunterville United Church, Minto-Odanah. They farmed south of Strathclair
where they raised their three children. Helen and Bill retired to town in 1993.
Helen was a member of the Lady Forresters where she made many of her life-long friends. She was a
great supporter of the Strathclair Community assisting at the Strathclair Review, Bend Theatre and St.
Lukes Anglican Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting. She was an avid baker known for
her bread, buns and biscuits. There were always dainties to be shared over coffee with friends at the
Watson's house.
Helen will be forever remembered by her family: Betty Jean (Tony) DeGagne, Patti (Patrick) Menard and
Scott (Lisa) Watson.
Grandchildren: Jena (Grant) Spraggs, Charlie (Adam) Raimbault, Ben (Lyndsey) DeGagne, Hannah (Shaun)
Dziver, Gabby (Zach) Mahon and Hayden Watson (Kira Cuthbertson)
Great Grandchildren: Paisley, Spencer, Hudson, Price, Watson, Harley, Kennedy, Charlotte, Ledger
Helen was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), parents Christina and Charles Fischer, brothers
Cameron, Douglas and Robert. She is survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Fischer and many cousins,
nieces and nephews.

Our heartfelt appreciation is extended to the staff at PCH Minnedosa for their compassionate care of our
mother and to Nathan at White's Funeral Home for his support and guidance.
A private burial will take place at a later date.
