Howard Walker
April 24 1948-April 24 2023
Howard passed away at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 24, 1948 in the District of Reeve in the family home. He was the third child of Helena and Jack Walker. Howard had a love for horses from a young age that carried throughout his entire life, passing his knowledge of them onto many. Over the years, Howard was involved in chariot racing, standard bred racing, chore horse competitions, but his love in the last years turned to trail riding. Taking part in many years of the Fort Ellis Wagon Train, as well as any trail ride that his family joined him on was a good one.
On February 7, 1970, Howard married his true love, Ethel Law. Together they raised two children, Daren and Leanne. Over the years, Howard lived in Brandon, Antikaon Ont., Faro Yukon and then home to McCreary until his recent passing. In those moves, Howard found himself working a variety of jobs, until the move home to McCreary when he started his career with Natural Resources as a surveyor, until his retirement in 2003.
Howard enjoyed his retirement to the fullest, and cared for his family every chance he got. In the last year he tried his knack at caregiving to the fullest. His wife Ethel recently had gone through a knee replacement and emergency surgery, and Howard exceeded his caregiving job to the fullest potential. Until when roles just recently changed, when his wife became his caregiver. Howard had one last wish and it was to “Take Me Home”, and with the help of family, his true love Ethel granted that wish.
Howards body was tired and could not keep fighting, after a hortatory disease (Loeys-Dietz Syndrome) took over.
Left to mourn Howards passing is his wife Ethel, son Daren, his children Wade (Janelle), Jessica (Kolby). Daughter Leanne (Sheldon), their children Josh, Kolby (Kylee) & Becc. Daughter Jody (Marvin), their children Shalie (Jansen) and Holly (Matt). Six great grandchildren: Paisley, Azaylia, Octavia, Kade, Hutch & Brynlee. Also, Howards brothers Harvey, and Mervin, Sister’s Mary-Anne (Harold), and Sheila along with his sister-in-law Heather Law, brother-in-law Stuart Spencer and numerous nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his parents Helena and Jack Walker, brother Bill Walker, sister Beverly Mulligan, grandson Jake Spencer, brother-in-law Mervin Law, sister-in-law Corrine Spencer, brother-in-law Dennis Law, and sister in law Marsha Walker.
Howards family would like to thank his friends and family, as well as Dr. Blais and Dr. Paradise for the support in these tough days.
Howard will be forever missed for his contagious smile and smirk along with the tinkle to his eye.
