Iris passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2024. She was born in Brandon, Manitoba to Fred & Nellie Sparrow on October 29, 1941. She was the second oldest, & only girl, of 7 siblings.
On August 5, 1961, she married Fred Posthumus and in 1962, they welcomed their son, Garry.
Soon after, they moved to Winnipeg for a year or 2, where they had their daughter Kim in June of 1963.
They then moved back to Carberry, where they spent their remaining years.
Iris will be forever missed by brothers Jim, Nelson (Phyllis), Dig (Donna), & Lorne (Debbie), son Garry (Lida), daughter Kim (Don), granddaughter Chelcie (James), grandson Torey (Mariah), granddaughter Meaghan (Cody), great granddaughters Hallie & Rosie, sister-in-law Mona, brothers-in-law Frank & Matt (Gloria), and many nieces & nephews.
Iris was predeceased by her parents Fred & Nellie, husband Fred, brothers Milt & Cecil, sister-in-laws Yvonne, Sandy, & Gert, and brothers-in-law Steve, Keith, & Wayne.
A service will be held on Thursday, November 14 at 2:00 pm at the Carberry United Church.
