It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabel Dixon, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who passes away peacefully on July 12 2025 with her loved ones by her side after a short battle with cancer.
Isabel was born on July 23rd, 1950, in Gladstone Manitoba. She was the fourth and only daughter to Sid and Nellie Wilson.
Isabel grew up in Plumas with her parents and five brothers. Isabel was involved in 4-H, figure skating, church activities, and CGIT. It was here she made many lifelong friends. In 1967 she married Wayne Dixon, settled in Rivers Manitoba in 1973 where they raised their 5 children. After 25 years of marriage, Isabel ventured off on her own with her youngest daughter and established a great life for herself. Isabel then moved to Neepawa Manitoba to be closer to her mom, where she then worked for Touchwood Park. In 2003 Isabel moved back to Plumas (right beside her Aunt Bernice) where she lived up until her passing.
During her time in Plumas Isabel was active in the community, where she was a member of the Legion, and United Church. During her down time, you could often find her in her kitchen preparing for the upcoming fair season baking, or socializing with friends playing cards.
Isabel is predeceased by her parents; Sid and Nellie Wilson, Brothers; George, Cecil, and Ernest. She is survived by her Children; Janet, Shelly (Doug), Donna (Lee), Glen, Deanna (Steve). 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great grand children and was excited to know there was 2 more great grand children on the way.
Isabel will be missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plumas United Church, Plumas, Manitoba with Wendy Denbow acting as officiant.
The family encourages people to wear bright coloured clothing.
Interment to take place at Plumas Cemetery.
