It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Thomas Scott of Carberry, MB. Jim passed away on January 22, 2025 at the age of 65.
Born on July 17, 1959, in Carberry, MB, Jim was the son of Gerald and Francis Scott. He grew up on their family farm just North of Carberry with his brothers Jeff, Jason and sister Sheena.
Jim grew up farming with his dad for many years before starting his meat cutting career at Safeway and East 40 Packers. After the passing of his father, Jim returned to the family farm, where he worked alongside his working man and longtime friend Billy. Jim was always quick to lend a helping hand and would often help other farmers in the area.
Jim loved to spend his summers hunting, fishing and golfing. He would often go on fly in fishing trips and travel down south with friends for a relaxing golf trip. Jim’s other true joy was playing baseball with the Carberry Royals alongside his brothers Jeff and Jason, cousins Don and Zeke and his lifelong friends.
Jim became a father in March 1992 to his first daughter, Kaylee Jane Scott. Two years later, his second daughter, Brittany Nicole Scott was born in August 1994. Jim enjoyed watching his girls grow and found himself back at the ball diamond watching them play softball for many years. His daughters and grandsons were his pride and joy.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Francis and brother Jeff. He is survived by his beloved children Kaylee (Brad) and grandson Calder, Brittany (Landon) and grandson Brooks, brother Jason (family) and sister Sheena (family) along with other relatives and friends.
