Obituary

Kenneth Arthur Betteridge, second son of Allan and Elva Betteridge, passed away after a short but courageous battle with Cancer at Minnedosa Health Facility, on March 10th 2023 at the age of 78.

Ken was born in Minnedosa on May 29th 1944, and was raised on the family farm near Bethany, Manitoba. Ken attended school in Bethany and Minnedosa. He was a very hard worker, he worked for Robinson Construction of Bethany for 30 plus years, farmed for 40 plus years, and drove a school bus for Rolling River School Division for 28 years.

Ken was passionate about his 7020 John Deere tractor, hockey, curling and fastball and finding treasures when he ventured out to auction sales and the garbage dump. Ken developed a love of camping, mainly Minnedosa Beach, Oak Lake, Souris, Pipestone and other campgrounds throughout Manitoba.

He was very involved with his children and grandchildren’s activities, from Christmas and Ukrainian Dance Concerts to the different sports they played. Ken volunteered for the Bethany Community Centre and St.John’s Anglican Church mowing, snow blowing, and lighting the furnace.

Ken met the love of his life Lynne Henuset, when she was a teacher at Bethany Consolidated School. They were married at Pipestone United Church on September 7th, 1968. They would have celebrated 55 years of marriage this Fall.

Ken was welcomed into heaven by his parents Allan and Elva, brother Jim and sisters-in-law Joan and Debbie, in-laws Dolphe and Jeanette Henuset, brothers-in-law Mel and Dean and sister-in-law Debbie.

Ken is survived by his wife Lynne, daughter Shari, son Jeremy, grandchildren Jessica, Alanna, Hailey, and Gavin. Siblings George, Carl,(Donna) , Bruce, and Dorothy (Jay), sister-in-law Nancy Betteridge and Lynne’s family Al (Marlene), Brenda (Harvey), Randy, sisters-in-law Lorna and Judy, brother-in-law Gary Barker, numerous nieces and nephews and a very large extended family whom he loved very much.

A celebration of Ken's life will take place this summer in Bethany, MB.
