Leslie Cummins Obituary

Leslie William Cummins , age 96 years, passed away peacefully, on September 9th, 2021 at Brandon Regional Health Centre.  Les was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Shirley Cummins (McDonald); as well as his brothers, Raymond, Elwin, Graydon and Milne and his parents Marie and William Cummins.

He will be lovingly remembered by; daughter Leila; and son Don (Terri) as well as two grandsons, Spencer and Taylor; in addition to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and friends, as Les, Dad, Uncle, Poppa, neighbor and friend.

Les was born January 31st, 1925  in Strathclair, MB to Marie and William Cummins. In his life’s journey he was a business man, a labourer, a manager and an owner in numerous retail and service industries (Anglo, the Dari-Isle, Quik-Dri Carpet Care  and others).

Les was a hard working man, that wasn’t afraid to take on a new endeavor whether a business, a home or an adventure. He loved people, and was known for his ability to tell stories, enjoyed dancing, golf, sweets, watching his grandsons play hockey, and volunteering.  He was a dedicated member of the Wheat City Lions Club and in particular loved selling their Christmas cakes. He was proud of his family, dedicated, and meticulous throughout his life, always willing to lend a hand.

Due to Covid 19 there will be a small family graveside funeral in Minnedosa.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Donations in memory of Les may be made to a Lions Club of your choice or a charity of your choice.
