Liisa May Truesdell (Grant), of Port Moody BC, born Feb. 21, 1963, passed away unexpectantly on April 13, 2026 at the age of 63. Liisa spent the first 6 years of her life in Winnipeg, moving to Minnedosa Manitoba in 1969, where she made many life long friends.
Left to mourn her is her son Grant Truesdell, daughters Devon and Taylor (Cory Cameron), grandchildren Jethro, Victoria, Amelia, Charlotte, Isla, Noah, Everett and Bowen, her Mother Ellen Grant, sister Leslie Sandstrom and brother Blair Grant (Wendy). There are many, many nieces, nephews and close friends that will miss her presence. Liisa was predeceased by her sister Lyla Alexander in 2000, her Father John Grant in 2007 and her brother Michael Grant in 2021.
Liisa joined the Armed Forces and did her training at Dartmouth, NS. Her first posting was at North Bay as a steward. It was in North Bay where she met and married Steven Truesdell and along the way came three children Grant, Devon and Taylor. Sadly the marriage ended but Liisa and Steve remained friends. She always looked forward to visits with Steve. When Liisa decided the Armed Forces life was not for her she returned to school and received a diploma in Hotel/Motel Management. The majority of her working career was as a server in the Hospitality Industry. She loved her job and her customers. She had a wonderful work ethic and excelled at making her clients feel welcome and at home. It would warm your heart to see the many, many posts from her clients on line when they heard of her passing. Her natural ability to connect with people was her greatest asset. She was truly loved and respected. There is no real ending; Liisa’s story stops but her memories and our love for her will endure. In lieu of flowers, donations in Liisa’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
A celebration of Liisa’s life will be held in Minnedosa Manitoba on May 30, 2026.
A graveside service is planned for 12:30 p.m.at the Minnedosa Cemetery with a gathering at the Minnedosa Legion Club Rooms to follow. All are welcome.
