Louise Boyd Obituary It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Boyd, beloved wife of Raymond Gary Boyd. Louise passed away in Minnedosa, Manitoba on May 31, 2025 after a short battle with lung cancer.
Louise (Feist) Boyd was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan to Louis “Ludwig” Feist and Ann Fenrich on August 13 ,1947. Louis and Ann moved to British Columbia when Louise was 9 years old. Louise moved to Winnipeg in 1963 and graduated from the Pollack School of Beauty Culture (hair dressing) in December of that year. After working in Winnipeg, Hamiota, and Clear Lake, she moved to Minnedosa.
Louise met her husband Gary in the fall of 1965 in Minnedosa and they later married in 1972, living in Bethany, Manitoba until moving to an acreage north of Minnedosa in 1999. Louise was an instrumental partner with Gary in Boyd Farms and Boyd Trucking. She dispatched trucks for two decades and did all the bookkeeping while raising a family. Louise loved her flowers, grandchildren (several who did not visit while she was ill nor anytime over the few years), spending time with her friends and family, baking and canning, bird watching, and living vicariously through her daughter Marsha’s world travels.
Louise was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Ann, her sisters Patricia (Ken) Lemieux, Audrey (Ross) Ferguson, Margaret Hiller, Mary-Anne (Rob) Rodger, and her brother Louis. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gary, and her children Marsha, Darvy (Tami) Gilbertson, Nicole (Sean) Huggins, Darvin (Andrea) Adamson.
She is also survived by grandchildren Travis, Austin, and Bryce, her sisters Irene (Wayne) Dynneson and Gloria (Ulrich) Klumpp, and brothers Gerald (Pat), Kevin (Bunny), Bill (Penny), Doug (Gwen), Don (Celia), and Wes Feist, and brother in law Helmut Hiller along with numerous nieces and nephews including Melody (Gary) Moroz and her sons Jordan, Chancellor, and Bailey.
A funeral service was held at the Whites Funeral Chapel on June 6, 2025 in Minnedosa, Manitoba with interment following at the Boyd Cemetery in Bethany. Pallbearers were Dennis Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Chancellor Moroz, Bailey Moroz, Trent Madill and Chad Burton. Honorary pallbearers were Jordan Moroz, Austin Gilbertson and Bryce Gilbertson.
