Lynda Klawitter Obituary

It is with great sadness that, after a long health battle, we announce the passing of Lynda Darlene Klawitter. Lynda entered into rest in the evening of March 15th, with her closest family by her side. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be fondly remembered as a selfless and caring homemaker, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own.

Lynda married the love of her life, John Klawitter in 1971. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure. They resided in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, until 1990, before moving to Cassiar, B.C. and later settling in Houston, B.C. from 1992 to 2005. Lynda and John had the unique opportunity to travel to Africa because of John’s work as a training coordinator and supervisor for Ashanti Goldfields, they lived there from 1996 until 1999 when John became ill.

In 2000, Lynda faced one of the greatest losses of her life when John passed away from a lengthy battle with cancer. She never remarried, but found strength in caring for others, especially her beloved mother, Dorothy, whom she lived with and cared for after moving to Carberry, Manitoba in 2005. Dorothy, also known as “Nanny” to many, was a pillar in Lynda’s life, and Lynda remained by her side as a caregiver.

Lynda dedicated herself to her family and her community, working as a homemaker, store clerk, and devoted caregiver throughout her life. Lynda’s grandkids will forever cherish the memories of the grand Christmas celebrations she hosted, where love was felt in every carefully prepared dish, and no one ever left hungry. Her home was more than just a house; it was a second home for her grandchildren and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Summers spent at Grandma’s were filled with warmth, laughter, and lessons that shaped who they are today. She taught them the ways of life – how to garden, how to bake her most special goods, and, most importantly, how to love unconditionally.

Her sense of humor was truly one of a kind, bringing laughter even in the most unexpected moments. Whether cracking jokes at inappropriate times just to lighten the mood or simply being her genuine, witty self, Lynda had a way of making everyone around her smile.

Unfortunately, Lynda was diagnosed with a terminal illness and spent the last four years in a lengthy health battle. Through it all, she remained strong, resilient, and surrounded by the love of those who mattered most.

While she will be deeply missed, there is comfort in knowing that she has finally reunited with the love of her life, her husband, John Georg Klawitter, and her beloved mother, Dorothy Vivian Johnson – two of the most special people in her life.

Lynda’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth and laughter will continue through the memories she created and the lessons she passed down.
