Marion Johnson Obituary

On December 28, 2020, with her daughter by her side, Marion Johnson’s beautiful spirit peacefully left us.

On June 12, 1946, Marion married the love of her life, Russell Johnson, of Clanwilliam, Manitoba. They had four children before moving to Erickson, Manitoba. Russell and Marion’s souls will always find each other.

Marion loved sewing, baking and gardening. She had style, class, and was always mindful of how she presented herself. Marion loved to shop and seemed to pick up speed once she reached the door of the shopping mall. She joined the Erickson Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed working with the E.L.W. ladies, and also served on the alter guild for a number of years. She was strong in her faith and had a tremendous love for all people. Marion always felt everyone was her friend, and a few were very special to her. In later years she built irreplaceable friendships with Joyce Cameron and Dave Walker.

Marion leaves to mourn her daughter Linda Harper, grandchildren Cary (Kelly) and Angie (Doug), son Garry Johnson (Linda) and family, daughter Sharon Lofgren (Ken), grandchildren Candace (Doug) and Lori (Alison), son Donald Johnson and grandchildren Danny, Dale and Nick. Marion also leaves to mourn her great-grandchildren Darby, Delany, Demy, Caitlin, Cody, Zayne, Odin and Westyn, sister-in-law Margaret, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a phenomenal grandmother and was always so proud to introduce her grandchildren to everyone she encountered when they visited. She had an endless amount of time, energy and love for the people that cared about her. The care she received from her children Sharon and Donald over the years was always met with gratitude and love. Marion knew the value of time spent with her loved ones whether they were family or friends. Marion loved to smile and laugh and had a unique and wonderful sense of humour. She deeply loved her family. As a New Year’s Eve baby, Marion always enjoyed gathering with all the thoughtful people that came to celebrate with her.

Marion had a very special group of angels awaiting her arrival, including her husband Russell, father Ernie, mother Minnie, brothers Melvin and Ron, sister Florence, son-in-law Mervin, and great grand-children Elle and Kaden.

While she resided at the Erickson Personal Care Home, she made many special friends. We wish to extend our greatest gratitude to the staff at EPCH. The love and care that was shown towards her over her years there was exceptional. Her dignity and independence were always important to her, and the staff allowed her to maintain this as long as she possibly could.

The family would like to extend immense appreciation for the many messages of love and support that have been received. The memories and love for Marion have been felt every single day. If you knew her, you loved her. We will all carry her with us every single day, with gratitude for all of the good she put out into the world during her beautiful time on earth.
