Mark Peter Smerchanski

It is with great sadness to announce that on December 22, 2022, Mark Peter Joseph Smerchanski passed away in his home at the age of 66.

He was predeceased by his parents, Phil and Georgie and his brother Gilbert. Mark is survived by his children, Anton, Mark and Hayly (Mike), his grandchildren, Haven, Halo, Sage and Mark Jr; and his siblings Phyllis, Eileen (Tom) and Dennis (Joyce).

Some of the memories Mark held dearest were his time playing hockey for the Kildonan North Stars, hunting with his family and neighbours from St. Andrew’s and so many great moments spent with friends and loved ones at “Phil’s Place”.

Mark loved spending his winter’s in Cabo where he could fish, watch whales and not have to worry about wearing a shirt. 

Everywhere Mark went there was a new friend to be made, stories to be told and laughs to be had.

Thank you for setting an example of hard work, having fun and high ideals. You will always be remembered and missed.  

Join us for a Celebration of Life at Jeffrey’s Restaurant & Lounge @ 1420 Henderson Hwy on Sunday, January 8th at 1pm. A private burial will be held in the spring at Holy Family Cemetery.
