Muriel McIntosh Obituary

Muriel McIntosh Obituary

Muriel was born in Carberry on April 13, 1938. She was the elder daughter of Norman and Thelma Mack. She attended both elementary and high school in Carberry before going to nursing college. She nursed in Neepawa and Carberry for a few years. She met Don McIntosh in high school, they married in 1961. Don and Muriel had three children Brock, Carmen and Boyd while living on the farm that Dons grandparents owned. She was the farm support, fed many hired hands and delivered meals to the field. She took great pride in her garden and yard. She loved to spend time with her family and was devoted to hosting many large gatherings in her kitchen with aunts, uncles brothers, sister, cousins and in-laws. Muriel and her sister Donna raised their kids together and always had one another for support. She liked to bake and volunteered with the Royal Purple ladies and the Presbyterian Church for many years. Nothing was more important than her many grandchildren. She made sure all of them got a chance to come camping with her in the summer time to Spruce Woods. Great memories and stories have been shared about those summers.

Muriel treasured several close friendships. A visit and a laugh was always a priority. Muriel spent her last 2 years in the Carberry Care home where she was taken care of by some great caregivers. We can’t thank you enough for the patience and caring it takes to do your jobs. Don will also miss the daily visits and kindness you showed to him.

Muriel was predeceased by her parents, brother George and Lloyd. She is survived by her sister Donna and her brother Bob(Ang), her children Brock(Donna), Carmen(Kurt), Boyd(Arlene). Her grandchildren Megan, Blair(Blair), Alysa(Matt), David. Cassidy(Jordan), Tanner(Katie). Melecia(Brittan), Tyral(Crystal), Raelyn(Nathan), Samantha(Danton), Talivia, Ashley(Wyatt), Amy(Wade). Muriels great grandchildren Aubree, Alexis, Vera-Lynn, Miles and Wren-Li; Colby, Parker and Henry; Karver, Gordie, Millie, Ava, Scarlet, Anabella, Abel, Braxton and Clara; Her sister-in-laws Cathy, Elaine and Linda; many nieces and nephews. Thanks to everyone who came to see Mom in the care home and shared their memories with us these past few days. May we all live long enough to say goodbye to our loving partner, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
