Peter Iwasiuk Obituary

Iwasiuk Peter passed away March 15, 2020 at The Minnedosa Hospital. Peter was born on December 21, 1930 at Detroit, U.S.A.  The following year he moved with his parents Michael and Mary to the Rackham district then eventually to his grandparents farm near Clanwilliam, Manitoba. Michael and Mary would soon buy their own farm in the Clanwilliam area where they raised Peter who was the first of their seven children.

With a limited education Peter went out to work as a painter as his trade working in different parts of Manitoba. He lived in Dryden, Ontario, Neepawa, Minnedosa and Erickson.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, brothers Walter and Frankie as well as sister Helen. Also, sister in law Donna, brother in laws Gary Savage,  and Frank Shandala.

Surviving are sister Irene Shandala of Sandy Lake, brother Bill and sister in law Adrienne, of Brandon, and sister Margaret (Marge) of Brandon  also several nieces and nephews.

Besides his love for painting he enjoyed bingo, watching curling on TV and thought he was an expert at crib. He won many games of crib and once was the champion of a large cribbage tournament held in Neepawa.

Cremation has taken place and a grave side service will be held at The Minnedosa Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery on Monday, October 19th at 1:00 p.m. Whites Funeral Home of Neepawa are in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to thank Alma and Ernie Braschuk and Ray Swiskoski of Erickson for all the visits and friendship bestowed to him.
