A career veteran, loving grandfather, loyal friend, devoted husband, avid golfer, traveller, and motorcycle enthusiast. Rob lost his battle after a courageous fight with cancer on Feb 27th, 2022 in Minnedosa MB. He now rides in heaven.

A celebration of life will take place in the summer (date TBA), which will include a motorcycle ride and a BBQ near Winnipeg and Elie.  This will be open to anyone, we welcome anyone that would like to join us, as we give Rob  “one last ride”.

Rob was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on July 9, 1960. He was predeceased by his parents Eileen Hannah Chorley and Victor Wilfred Chorley. Survived by his wife, Sabine, and his children Brennan, Lenea (Andrew) and John. 5 grandchildren who were the light of his life, Austin, Blakely, Madden, Tegan, and Jaina.

We wish to extend our sincerest thanks to the Minnedosa hospital, Dr. Onyshko, the team of nurses, health care aids, Minnedosa Pharmacy, Whites funeral home for their service.  To the Minnedosa Wine Night Ladies, Farmhouse 50, Cheryl Zealand (Cranked Energy) for keeping us constantly fed, and anyone else who helped in any way, including sending out prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you to his military work family who cared so much and moved mountains to help in his journey.

Thank you to the cancer care team at HSC, and to all of our friends who have been there to support Rob and our journey through this.  His dear friends Penny + Derek for their part in guiding Rob home.  To our Manitoba Veterans UN NATO Riding Group for the constant support,  they presented Rob with a Quilt of Valour which kept him warm until the end. A special thank you  to Cody Goetz Photography for capturing some gorgeous memories in the summer, and to Glen Robinson who kept our snow cleared and offered help when needed.  Finally, to Josiah Mikkelsen for his hand around our house as we prepared to take Rob home, for agreeing to say a few words during our private viewing. We are most grateful to our family and friends that helped out in so many ways. We couldn’t have done this without a team of people and this amazing community. Our heartfelt thanks.
