Roger Gosselin Obituary

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Roger Harold Gosselin on December 10, 2024, at the age of 60.

He was preceded in death by his father Gerard and mother Doris Gosselin.

Left to cherish his memory is wife Mary Anne and his children Dan (Stephanie, Grandchildren: Cade, Keely, Kiera, Colby), Leeann (Greg, Grandchildren: Sasha, Sophia and Boe), Noah (Haley, Grandchildren: Noah and Mya). Roger will be lovingly remembered by his siblings; Joanne (Robert), Normand (Louise), Elaine (Rick), Lorraine (Don) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Roger was born in Espanola, Ontario and moved to Sudbury when he was a young child.  He completed school from MacDonald Cartier High School and enlisted in the Canadian Forces when he was 24 years old.  He became a father to Leeann when he was 25.  He then joined the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery and ended up being stationed in Shilo where he met Mary Anne in 1990.  They joined in matrimony in 1993.  Roger, along his career moved over to the Airforce and continued there retiring as a Sargent in 2014.  Roger had a passion for renovations and started his own business Roger Kando Services.  Later he joined the Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure Department.

Roger had many other passions: riding his motorcycle, fishing, snowmobiling, quadding, bowling and most recently golfing. He enjoyed spending many hours with family, friends, and camping.  He was an active member in his church by being an usher, driving the Handivan, assisting with Samaritan Purse Shoe Boxes and holding a trustee position.

Don't grieve my family and friends for I'm not gone.

I'm merely out of sight.

For in everything you've shared with me, a part of me burns bright.

In my family and loved one's smiles or gestures you'll recall a time or place.

We've laughed or loved or shared such, that mere absence cannot erase.

So, smile for me, and laugh for me and live your life with zest.

Do treasure all our memories, I offer you my strength.

Go on with life and be proud of me, in you I have such faith.
