Sharon Oliver Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sharon Lynne Oliver of Neepawa on January 21, 2026 at the age of 84 years.

Sharon was born on Feb 6, 1941 in Neepawa, Manitoba to Olive and Frank Pasquill.  Sharon loved swimming in the White Mud river with her brothers, Frank and Richard.  She loved school, was a Majorette in a marching band and was a lifeguard at the pool. Through the school years, the family lived in Neepawa, Minnedosa, and Kenora.

Sharon met the love of her life, Stanley Mack Oliver in high school at Neepawa.  They married in 1962 and moved onto the family farm near Oberon.  Sharon graduated from Brandon University as a Registered Nurse in 1962 and worked at Carberry General Hospital.  After retiring from Nursing, she worked at the Silver Thimble in Neepawa.  She was a long time board member on the Carberry Plains Lodge and was a dedicated canvasser for the United Way.

Sharon loved to sew and tended two very large gardens, canning and freezing enough to fill a cold storage room every year.  They raised a family with son Doug and daughter Corinne, and lived on the family farm until moving into Neepawa in the fall of 2011.  Sharon and Stan loved to have grandchildren, nieces and nephews visit them at the farm during summer holidays. We all loved watching Mom and Dad dance; especially the jive.

Sharon is predeceased by husband Stan, brother Richard, parents Olive and Frank.  Surviving are son, Doug (Michelle), daughter Corinne (Jamie), grandchildren Brett Oliver (Hayley), Bryce Oliver (Madison), and Jenna Campbell (Mitch), great-grandson Brax Oliver and brother Frank (Myra) and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with Alzheimer’s.

She will be remembered for her bright smile, welcoming nature and endless energy and determination for a hard day’s work.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Country Meadows for their caring and compassion over the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba.

A service will be planned in spring 2026.  Details to follow.
