Shinayne was born on September 17, 1992 in Brandon, MB to Pamela Wilson and Ashley Quewezance. Shinayne was born with Rett Syndrome.  Rett Syndrome is a rare non-inherited genetic postnatal neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls. She will always be loved and adored by the many hearts she touched and impressed upon especially her younger brothers Dinin and Hayden.

Shinayne spent the first years of her life growing up in Rolling River where she attended Wapi-nance Nursery School. She went on to Erickson Elementary and than Erickson Collegiate. Shinayne had two teacher aides that worked one-on-one with her so that she would be able to fully participate: Artenia Crozier and Kim Braschuk. Shinanyne, with her family, then moved to Brandon, where she graduated from Neelin Collegiate in 2013. It was during this time she was granted a wish to travel to Disney World with her Mom, Dinin and Koko; where she met her dream and forever favorite movie the “Lion King.” Her Koko would always sing to her “I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts….” and she would always giggle with delight.

As a young adult, Shinayne attended the COR program full-time. Shinayne made a very remarkable impression upon those who have met her. She was known by many in the Health care field:  all the nurses who took very good care of her as she spent countless hours in hospitals, her many COR participants and friends that greeted her with kind smiles, the Handi-dart transit drivers, CRS office staff and many respite workers.

Shinayne, Naynsi, Nayners… as we called her, her Koko even called her “teedle dee dee.” Shinayne looked at you with those beautiful big brown eyes and a smile that brightened the world. She touched many hearts with her tenacity for life. Shinayne will be forever missed and fondly remembered and held dearly to the hearts of many.

Shinayne leaves to mourn her loving, dedicated and strong-willed Mother, Pamela; her loving younger brother Dinin and her baby brother, Hayden; her father Ashley, Grandmother Victoria and Aunt Antonia. Shinayne also leaves to mourn her Aunties: Deidre and family (Chris, Justin & Natasha) and cousins; Glynis and Nicole; her Uncles: Doyle wife Delores and Samantha; Jeff (Maxine); Julian; Faron; Brent (Clarice); Layne (Dinah) and many cousins and relatives.

Shinayne was pre-deceased by her Koko Victoria and her papa Frank; Uncles Curtis, Dwain and Royce.

Perhaps they are not stars

But rather openings in heaven

Where the love of our lost ones

Pours through and shines down upon us

To let us know they are happy…

Traditional Wake will begin Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
