Sophia Nechwediuik passed away peacefuly on Friday September 1, 2023 at the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home at the age of 99.
Sophia was born March 6, 1924, the 3rd youngest of 11 children born to John & Petronella Melcosky.
Sophia was predeceased by her husband Tony February 18, 1971, her son William July 29, 2019 her brothers Gus (Lena), Peter (Matilda), Bill, Paul (Mary), Steve (Jean). Her sisters Annie Chastko (Frank), Lena Balabuck (Frank), Mary Rochelle (Pete), Christina Rochelle(Mike) and Emily Lane.
She leaves to mourn her Children; Ray (Susan), Elaine Wille (Craig), Danny (Darlene) Louise Griffiths (George); her Grand Children and Great Grand Children; Brad (Anndrea) Ryland and Kate, Marnie, Owen and Chloe, Larrin (Kelsey) Kayson, Caiden and Quinn, Nathan (Amanda) Ethan, Tayler, Jordynn and Logan, Tanya (Tish), Carla (James) Sophia and Macy, Melanie (Ryan) Jack and Adele, Melissa, Nolan and Natalie. Her Step Grandchildren Shannon, Joe and their families. Her brother in law Harold Lane and many nieces and nephews.
A private immediate family service will be held at a later date.
