William "Bill" Hooper Obituary

Remembered with love William Jason Hooper , 68 years old passed away unexpectedly. June 30, 2025 in Minnedosa MB.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Jack and Bernice ( Willits ) Hooper and his twin brother David Maurice Hooper, grandparents , aunts and uncles.

Bill was born in Winnipeg MB May 10th 1957. He moved to Stonewall in his early years and graduated from Stonewall Collegiate. Bill worked various jobs after graduating. One job was the Neepawa Hog Plant which brought him to Minnedosa to live in the home of his paternal grandparents. There he stayed. Once retired from the plant,  he filled his days working at the Minnedosa Inn, first in the vendor and then as a cook in the restaurant.

Bill had various interests. Sports were always in his orbit - the  Blue Bombers,  Jets , New Jersey Devils and of course CURLING. Bill  did some curling  himself, an interest he inherited from his father who was an avid curler. Bill also loved music Rock & Roll, especially the good old stuff from the 70’s and 80’s. He could entertain you with his knowledge of his favourite bands -their history of members and their musical journey. Old movies on TCM were also a favourite. And then there was the almost daily posting on Facebook of cartoon clips . Star Trek and Far Side being his faves. But there lots of others too … some political and how could you not comment on those!

He will be missed by many friends especially The HOBO Junction Gang who met “religiously for Church” outside when weather permitted, or at the Inn when it was less pleasant.  He has left some great memories in the hearts of those who knew him.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the love and kindness shown by Bill’s friends and the staff of the Minnedosa Inn who became a large part of his extended family over the years.
