William "Brian" Strahl Obituary

William “Brian” Strahl

March 28th, 1970 – September 21st, 2021

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Friend.

Brian left us much too soon, our memories, and our love will carry us through this difficult time. He is survived by his  loving Wife, Monica Dumont, his Children; Jessica and Dilon Strahl (Mother Tracy), Lougan and Victoria Dumont, Grandchildren; Breanna, Kyrin, Isaac, and Bryson, Parents; Wilf and Lillian, Brothers; Brent(Lisa), and Brad(Kelly), Nana; Pat McLean and countless Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

Brian grew up in Minnedosa, he enjoyed most sports, but his favourite was playing hockey here in Minnedosa and then with the Midget AAA Yellowhead Chiefs. He loved fishing, camping, swimming, and tormenting his younger brothers. Brian enjoyed working on vehicles with his Dad, his first car he built with the body of one car and the engine and undercarriage from another vehicle…it would not have passed the road safety test today! Almost anything Brian tried, whether carpentry, welding, or mechanics, was easy for him. Besides working hard and being with family, Brian was always willing to meet for coffee and conversation.

Jessica and Dilon meant everything to him, and it broke his heart when he went to Alberta to work, and they stayed behind. Jessica and Dilon spent many hours driving from Minnedosa to Elk Point with Nana for visits with their Dad. Fun times!

It was in Elk Point where Brian met his life partner Monica. He soon became Dad to her two children, Lougan and Victoria. His family was complete.

Breanna was his first grandchild, he was her Papa, and he loved her so much, she would spend as much time with him as she could. Kyrin, Isaac, and Bryson, got to spend a little time with their Papa, but not as much as Brian would have liked.

Brian’s life was not perfect, far from it, and some days the challenges were just too much, he did what he could with what he had.  Diabetes took a toll on his health, as did the last couple of years during COVID restrictions.

Brian, “You were loved, are loved and will always be loved. You have left a void that will never be filled, rest easy, your journey has just begun”.

Brian was pre deceased by his brother Craig Kozusko, Grandparents Ellis and Bernice Strahl, Archie “Bill” McLean, Papa John Swieskowski, and his Uncle Don Strahl

A Bikers Prayer

May the sun rise in front of me

May the rain fall behind me

And the wind follow me

May the angels guard my travels

For they know the road ahead of me

Keep me safe through swirling turns and rolling hills

Let the eagle quide me to the Mountaintops

Let the moons light guide me through the night

Lord, thank you for letting me be a biker
